The Department of Mathematics and Science
The Department of Science and Mathematics at Saba comprehensive school offers six science based subject areas at the Caribbean Examination Council (Secondary Certificate) Level namely; Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Human and Social Biology and Mathematics. These subjects are taught by highly skilled professionals, all of whom uses a didactic approach in developing important process skills as outlined by the individual curriculums.
The Science curriculum is highly student based and allows the students to explore theories and challenge ideas, whilst learning the accepted principles and applying these principles, where possible, to real life scenarios.
MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mathematics and Science is committed to upholding the overall mission and purpose of Saba Comprehensive School. Toward that end, the mission of the departmental unit is to foster the development and study of science related academic subjects that will meet the diverse needs of their students and assist them in their preparation to become competent professionals, and goal oriented individuals as they move on to tertiary level education
