 COUNSELING & CAREER GUIDANCE
Parents & Guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child/children to the Saba Comprehensive School! Each year in high school, your child will face new challenges as he or she grows and experiences the period of adolescence. Therefore, your child will need as much support as possible from us both.
The Guidance program at SCS helps to provide an atmosphere where students are able to learn and explore while allowing them to discover and express their basic personalities, including strengths and weaknesses in a comfortable, safe learning environment. The program also guides students through the decision making process helping them to understand the significance of a good education/career/job, responsibility, positive values and morals, consequences and positive self-esteem, which in turn, can help lead to fulfilling their academic, emotional, social and psychological needs. Students, who feel supported, understood and possess a strong sense of self-worth, generally perform better in school and are happier.
Together, we need to work towards helping your child achieve his/her goals and become all that he/she can in life. Therefore, I am asking for your cooperation in working together while having the best interest of your child at heart. It is also important to discuss your child’s future and ask them to explain to you their purpose for being in school and what they hope to accomplish. Each day in your child’s life is filled with promise and wonderful opportunities to learn and apply new concepts, so please encourage them to make the most of each day in school.
In closing, let’s work together to make this year one of your child’s best years at SCS.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Kathy Wright-Sagers, M.S.
